Everything you need to know about writing and publishing AI-illustrated storybooks on Sparkytales.
Sparkytales is a web app that lets kids, parents, and educators co-create illustrated storybooks using AI. You write the words, the AI helps with characters, illustrations, and narration, and you can publish the finished book for anyone to read.
Yes. We filter prompts and generated content for age-appropriateness, block violent, sexual, and hateful material, and keep a Trust & Safety layer on both text and image generation. Children under 13 should use Sparkytales with a parent or guardian.
Creating an account is free and includes Magic Coins so you can publish your first story without paying. After that, Sparkytales is pay-as-you-go — no subscriptions, no recurring charges.
You do. The text and images in stories you create belong to you. Sparkytales only uses your stories to display them on your profile or in the Explore feed if you choose to publish them publicly.
The tooling is built for readers and writers aged 10 and up working independently, and for parents co-creating with children as young as 4. Educators use it with classrooms from K through middle school.
Yes. Teachers use Sparkytales for creative writing prompts, reading comprehension, and illustration projects. See the For Educators page for classroom ideas and safety notes.
No. Sparkytales generates the illustrations from your descriptions. You can pick an art style, set characters, and regenerate any page until it matches your vision.
You can publish stories online to share via a public link. Physical printing is not currently built in, but you can export your story pages and illustrations for your own use.
The interface supports multiple languages via the language switcher, and story text can be written in any language the underlying models support. Illustration generation is language-agnostic.
Every published story has a report link in the footer. Reports are reviewed by our team and content that violates our policies is removed. See the Safety page for more detail.
